I thought we should start the year by looking at what is going to be hot in terms of wedding dresses this season and the answer is good news because there are so many amazing new trends to choose from. Whether it’s big bows, jewel encrusted belts, ruffles or pleats the emphasis is on individuality. Your dress choice will be dictated by all sorts of things including whether you are getting married abroad, the type of venue, the size of your wedding, your budget and your own personal style, but there is lots of choice and there are lots of new designers to consider.

My personal favourites include Lisa Redman, Temperley and our very own South African Designer, Shane Ryding. All of these designers have created some really beautiful unique styles to ensure that you feel really beautiful and different.
In terms of colour, traditional ivory will always be the most popular choice, but black accessories such as sashes, bows or lace seem to have crept back onto the bridal catwalks again this year.
Shorter hem lines are also making a comeback with several designers including some shorter designs in their 2010 collections. This is great news for anyone planning a registry office or city wedding.
