I’m often asked whether or not couples need to have wedding rings for a civil partnership. My answer is that it’s entirely a matter of personal choice. Wearing something as personal as a ring which symbolizes your love for someone is an age old tradition which I’m happy to endorse.

If you are looking for something a little different, I can highly recommend the work of William Cheshire. From his studio in London's Hatton Garden, he designs some of the most unique and elegant jewellery around today. One of my favourite pieces is the silver Continental design; I wear silver myself and love this ring which, also available in 18ct white gold, has a timeless elegance making it a perfect wedding band for any stylish man. The matching cuff links would also make a fabulous gift for yourself or your partner!

I'm lucky enough to own a couple of William's creations, which are always commented on, which only goes to prove that well designed, well executed jewellery always stands out. The Truth ring has real rock star quality and I love it. As well as designing for a number of celebrities, William's work has also been featured on the catwalk of one of the UK's leading tailors, Ozwald Boateng. William is happy to accept commissions from anyone wanting a unique design, so why not treat yourselves to something out of the ordinary.
