Where to Start When Choosing a Wedding Dress
Choosing a wedding dress should be one the most exciting experiences of your life so you need to make sure that you start your search early.
I recommend that you begin your search by buying a good selection of bridal magazines to get an idea of the style of dresses that you think you might like and start booking some appointments with bridal shops.
Go to your fitting armed with a good strapless bra and a pair of heels and allow plenty of time between appointments. Once you are at your appointment make sure you choose a good selection of different shapes and styles of dress; things often look very different on the hanger and at such an early stage it is good to try on as many different dresses as possible. Always ask lots of questions and if you can’t see exactly what you are looking for, don’t be afraid to say something. Many boutiques offer bespoke services so it may be possible to make some amendments to existing styles or to design something exclusively for you.
I always suggest going for a coffee or lunch after each appointment so that you can really discuss what you have seen in detail, but most importantly remember to enjoy yourself, you will find your perfect dress eventually and you can have a lot of fun looking for it!
