Hitting the beach but panicked at your reflection? Here are my easy-peasy solutions to the top 3 bikini trouble spots...

 

Trouble spot: Cellulite-prone thighs

 

Causes: Cellulite is simply the combination of fat cells and tough connective skin tissue. Although slim women do suffer, the more body fat you have, the more likely it is you’ll suffer with cellulite.

 

Solution: Training with weights and performing moves like plie squats and lunges at the same time as eating less are the only proven cellulite reduction methods. To temporarily improve the appearance of your skin, try making a DIY body scrub from coffee granules and water and leaving on for 15 minutes – it’s THE top secret of A listers and it won’t break the bank either.

 

 

Trouble spot: Muffin top

 

Causes: Eating too much and exercising too little are the main muffin top culprits.

 

Solution: It’s not crunches that you need to do here – combining fat burning exercise (jogging, dancing, swimming) with a reduced calorie diet will fast track you to that washboard tum. Pick filling foods that won’t leave you feeling peckish – soups, sushi and pulses will all help to sustain you throughout the day.

 

 

Trouble spot: Bingo-wing arms

 

Causes: Wobbly arms, more commonly known as bingo wings, are simply an accumulation of body fat and lack of muscle tone.

 

Solution: Getting rid of body fat involves cutting down on how much you’re eating and doing some fat burning exercise that also helps to tone the arms – swimming is good for toning the arms, as is the cross trainer and the rower. Tone wobbly tops of arms by performing tricep dips on the edge of a chair – do 15-20 reps, 3-4 times a week to see results in as little as a fortnight.
