Wedding Flowers – Peonies

One of the most requested flowers by my brides has to be peonies – no matter what time of year!

I think they are one of the most beautiful blooms going, but sadly they aren't around long enough for my liking. When they start appearing at market in May I tend to go a little giddy, and when they start disappearing in early July, it's best to leave me alone to grieve.

So if your wedding day happens to fall in peony season do give them a thought, please. You will make your florist very happy.

Available in lots of yummy colours – classy pure white, the perfect blush pink of Sarah Bernhardt, peach, coral, hot pink and scrumptious maroon.  There is surely a variety for everyone.

Fill vases or candelabra with hydrangeas and ‘the wonder flower’ for a proper summer feast, or group single blooms in stem vases or old bottles along your tables. You can't get prettier (or simpler).

If you have your heart set on the beauties but are getting wed outside of peony season, why not have a peek at David Austin Roses. They are expensive, but in my eyes, worth it.

Not only can you settle down in the array of fluffy petals for a quick snooze, they smell quite staggering too.

If you're becoming a wife or husband in the next few months and are having the odd peony or two in your wedding flowers, huge congratulations, you have wonderful taste.
