Lose Weight with Minimal Effort

Want to lose weight with very little effort? You’re not alone. Making small changes and implementing barely-there measures can make all the difference if you’re looking to drop a dress size in time for your wedding day.

  • Discover surprisingly tasty treats! Once a week, treat yourself to something luxurious that tastes more sinful than it actually is: think a tablespoon of whipped cream over fruit salad; a Muller Light yoghurt, or best of all, forget the recession for a sec and treat yourself to some seafood – high in protein and low in calories, tasty treats like prawns and lobster are a must every now and then.
  • Jot it down. Carry a tiny notebook with you for a week and write down every morsel that passes your lips – studies show that you wind up eating 15% less if you write down what you eat.
  • Ditch your ‘fat’ clothes. Don’t let yourself off the hook – if you have a stash of comfy clothes to allow for overeating or ‘bloating’, get rid of them. It sounds harsh, but squeezing yourself into tight clothes before you eat out is a great way to prevent overeating.
  • Keep your coffee basic. Swap a large latte for a large Americano and you could save over 300 calories without even noticing it (and remember: there’s no such thing as a skinny muffin).
  • Measure your steps. Treat yourself to a half-decent pedometer and aim to do those 10,000 daily steps – whether you stroll or run, calorie-burn is largely dictated by an equation of two factors: body mass over distance, i.e. it’s what you weigh and how far you go that determines the calorie-burn of your walk.
