Choosing Bridesmaid Dresses
I often get asked what should be taken into consideration when choosing your bridesmaid dresses and the answer is there are lots of things you can consider, but ultimately it’s up to you what they wear.
Things that you may wish to consider include the detailing on your dress, your favourite colour schemes, the time of year and the style of your wedding; however I suggest that one of the most important things to consider is the comfort of your bridesmaids. Often bridesmaids are all different sizes and it can be difficult trying to get everyone to wear the same dress. In this instance, I suggest that you either choose completely different styles or that you slightly adapt a style to work with their different body shapes, for example; adding straps or slightly changing the neckline or skirt. If you are having several bridesmaids you could also consider having the dresses made in varying shades of colour or altering the colours of the details on the dresses.
I would also recommend starting your bridesmaids dress search early because it may influence things such as your choice of flowers or what colour your groom wears. You should also try to get a swatch of the dress fabric so that you can refer to it for any colour matching that you might need to do.
