Get Catherine Middleton’s Wedding Hair and Make-Up Look?
I was very excitable in the weeks leading up to the Royal Wedding, and everyone was speculating about Catherine Middleton’s wedding dress, hair, make-up and bridesmaids. I wrote an article in March (Ideas for Kate Middleton's Wedding Hair and Make-Up) where I gave my thoughts on how she might have her hair and make-up on the wedding day, and I am happy that she did in the end wear her hair down and loose as it is just so her!
Whenever you see Catherine on public engagements she always has her beautiful hair down, and I was happy to see that she stuck with how she normally looks as I am sure it gave her a certain amount of confidence on such a nerve-racking day! It puts our personal bridal jitters into perspective when you think that the eyes of the world were on Catherine.
It does however send a large message to the brides out there who might be in a dilemma as to how they will have their wedding hair and make-up. You should stick to what works for you and just be a more polished version of yourself, so if you wear your hair up have it up and vice versa.
I think Catherine has probably revived the trend of wearing veils and tiaras again, as we had seemed to have moved on from this to flowers or cute vintage accessories in the hair. I have to say that my personal choice is to not have a veil as it really messes the hair up, but it did look stunning.
A word of warning to brides wishing to go for a similar tiara style or just go down the tiara route, and that is to make sure that the tiara sits on your head comfortably as you will need slightly thicker hair to be able to secure it in place. Also, ill fitting tiaras slip and can give you a headache so make sure they are a good match for you.
Recreating Catherine Middleton’s wedding hair and make-up look is fairly simple. Half up half down hair with a beautiful shine and gloss and make-up that makes your skin look radiant. I felt the eyeliner was a little too heavy but you can just take certain aspects of the make-up look, like the cheeks or the lips etc.
So it’s your choice girls, look like the princess for a day or just use a few ideas. Either way, be sure to dazzle on your wedding day.
