Questions to Ask Wedding Venues
Having a list of questions to ask wedding venues will help you compare potential wedding venues and avoid any surprises later. A good place to start is to think about the sort of wedding you want so that you can find out the exact information that’s relevant to you.
If you’ve decided on certain ‘must-haves’ for your big day (e.g. helicopter landing, choice of band/DJ etc.) you need to find out from the start if the wedding venue in question can accommodate your plans.
Essential Questions to Ask Wedding Venues
- If you have a fixed date in mind, is the venue available?
- Is the venue licensed to carry out civil weddings/partnership ceremonies (if applicable)?
- Will your wedding be the only wedding at the venue on the day?
- How many people can be accommodated for the ceremony (if applicable), wedding breakfast, and evening reception?
- Are tables and chairs included in the price?
- What are the arrangements for catering and alcohol?
- Does the venue or its caterers have minimum number requirements?
- Are there any extra costs for catering staff or any other staff that will be present?
- Can you choose your own wedding suppliers?
- What is the finish time?
Extra Questions to Ask Wedding Venues
- Does the venue allow confetti to be thrown and if so, in what areas?
- Are candles allowed in the reception room?
- Is there a noise limiter for music?
- Is it possible to have a professional firework display?
- Is helicopter landing an option?
- How many car parking spaces are available?
- Are there disabled facilities?
- Is there accommodation nearby?
- If there is accommodation at the venue what time can you/your guests (if applicable) check in on the day of the wedding and out the morning afterwards?
