Hen and Stag Party Trends 2011

Hen and stag celebrations have become a lot more varied in recent years with the range of activities available seemingly endless.  Here are my predictions for the activities that are going to be popular in 2011.

Hen parties are going with the current trend of home-made in 2011 with bespoke hat making (fascinators) looking to be a strong contender for top hen activity of 2011.  Lots of hen groups are booking this activity, maybe waiting for a Royal invitation!

Cupcake decorating with afternoon tea parties is the perfect activity where you can invite the bride and groom’s mums and maybe even grandma to the daytime activities. This activity out sold spa/pamper days for the first time in 2010.  For the more energetic hen burlesque or Bollywood dance classes seem to be the top choice.

A day at races is a great choice for hens and stags that like to get dressed up, Ascot is a real favorite for 2011; lots of stags and hens are flocking to the races.

Talking of stag parties, as popular as ever are motorsports such as quad biking and rage buggies, and a new hit for this year is car rallying. Since the BBC docudrama Gears and Tears we have seen a surge in stock car racing to.

Stag parties that are looking to get away from it all are flocking to South Wales for a bonding weekend with the lads, as they go back to basics and learn some survival techniques like building a shelter and starting a fire from scratch – I said scratch not match!

Alternatively I have always found that stags love the group accommodation up in North Wales and go wild for White Water Rafting, Gorge Scrambling, Quad Biking and Clay Pigeon Shooting - always a firm winner every year.
