Vintage Wedding Trends 2011
Many brides are no longer content with having the “suitable” package deal from a hotel or wedding venue, which offers the archetypal deadly dull corporate style wedding, boring menus, dowdy place settings and the same old same old with the flowers etc. No, none of this for the discerning bride and groom-to-be who eschews this tradition for the fun and happy occasion it should be, reflecting their own tastes and personalities.

Brides want to do it for themselves right down to the last details ~ so planning your day, your way, together is an enjoyable and rewarding part of the build up to your wedding, creating and fashioning those details into splendid reality.
In 2011 we will see more brides having a greater input and wanting to discuss their ideas in greater detail with their wedding organiser, stylist, caterer, florist and other suppliers, who will love the chance to be even more creative, offering the couple their individuality to create that beautiful, romantic wedding reception.
A new trend for the wedding breakfast is a truly unique and original idea, to have long rows of different wooden dining tables without cloths, yes just that dark wood as the background, and mismatched dining chairs. Antique and vintage tableware of course, lots of glistening glass, old silver candelabra, and loose romantic trailing flower arrangements dotted along the tables enhances this dramatic look. It’s such a change from the uniform round tables. This also works beautifully for hen party gatherings on a smaller scale.
We will continue to see the vintage look with many props still fashionable, such as large lanterns on ribbons hanging from the trees, artificial floral archways, birdcages with faux birds and flowers, lovely vintage champagne coups ~ the kind Marilyn and Audrey would have sipped from, and garlands of foliage strung from the marquee ceiling to enhance the beauty of it all.
