The Magic of Music

Music can be responsible for so many wonderful things, whether it’s setting a party vibe for you and the girls getting ready for a night out, you and your hubby-to-be chilling out, sat by the fire on a cold winters evening sipping a glass of wine, or perhaps inspiring you to do something jaw-droppingly brilliant. Music can play a part in many aspects of your life and can totally change your mood.

I think people sometimes forget just what a big role music plays in all our lives, whether you’re the type of person who is constantly buying new albums, or even if you don’t particularly choose to put music on too often, when you think about it it’s everywhere! Every film you watch, every advert you see on TV or on the radio, every time you go shopping, every time you pop the radio on - for me, and I’m sure many others, I constantly have some kind of music in my head and, whatever the style, it is generally linked pretty directly to whatever I’m feeling at the time.

So, I feel that on the biggest day of your life it’s even more important to give music the attention it deserves. Well chosen music on your big day is going to be the element that brings a tear to your eye as you walk down the aisle, gets crowds ‘whooping’ with joy as you kiss your new husband, and of course gets your granny dancing on the tables in the reception later on (or maybe during the wedding breakfast depending on just how many glasses of Champagne she manages to sink).

Even if you’re not a couple that particularly cares too much for music, I suggest you sit down together and discuss your ideas, and if you don’t have any, contact people in the know for some inspiration. I think the music for your wedding ceremony needs to be personal to you, for the reception drinks and wedding breakfast it needs to be tasteful and non-intrusive, and for your evening reception it needs to be something that will make it a proper night to remember and get EVERYONE up and dancing until the early hours.

Lawrence Durrell once said..."Music is only Love, looking for words..." This is so true, so express your love for each other through the magic of music!

Love, symphonies & hugs to you!
