Dream Wedding Destinations - Lanzarote

Ideal for beach weddings, Lanzarote is located around 60 miles off the coast of North Africa and is one of 7 Canary Islands. The climate is sub-tropical with temperatures around 25-30 degrees for the majority of the year. For this reason many choose this island for their weddings abroad.

The island was formed some 11 million years ago by volcanic eruptions, the last being Timanfaya around 300 years ago. Timanfaya has become one of the islands many attractions and it is possible to witness first-hand the incredible heat still being produced. The island is also popular with many sports enthusiasts with many activities available including scuba-diving, wind surfing, surfing, cycling and much more.

The beaches are safe and are recognised throughout Europe as being clean and beautiful. There are many places to visit, quaint little villages and rugged landscape to explore and there are still donkeys to be seen working in the fields and even the occasional camel.

Lanzarote's architecture reflects the islands distinct beauty, which has been highly influenced by the renowned artist Cesar Manrique. Also, the Island has been declared a protected Biosphere by the Canarian Government.

Here are a couple of examples of speciality wedding locations in Lanzarote:

Nazaret – Lagomar Restaurant

On the cliffs of Nazaret, with breathtaking views over the valley, this house conceived by Cesar Manrique and once owned by Omar Shariff is surrounded by magical gardens with caves and tunnels to explore. The superb restaurant offers wonderful cuisine in a beautiful location. Caters for 10 to 75 guests.

Puerto Calero

Situated frontline to the sea with an unsurpassed reputation for quality and service, this is a superb venue for a wedding ceremony and/or reception. There is an onsite spa, beauty therapies and the hotel has everything you would expect from a 5* resort. It has its own private sandy beach right next to the water, terrace and lovely restaurant set apart from the Hotel. This is a superb location for a small romantic gathering or large function. Caters for 20 to 200 guests.
