How to Choose Your Perfect Bridal Jewellery
On your wedding day you will want to shine like a star, wearing the most beautiful dress and stunning accessories. Here are our tips on how to choose the perfect bridal jewellery and accessories for you and your style:
- Start looking for accessories once you have chosen your dress. Take a picture of your dress with you when you go to choose jewellery or have a copy next to your computer if looking online so you can keep the style in mind.
- Ask the experts! Chat to your dress retailer, contact wedding jewellery specialists and read up in the magazines to get as much advice as you can. It’s all free, and will help you look your very best on the day.
- Choose your hair accessories first. Think about how you will wear your hair on the big day and chat through the options with your hairdresser. Don’t be afraid to tear pictures from magazines to show your hairdresser or jewellery designer, these will help you get exactly the look you want.
- Set a budget. If your budget does not stretch to buying a whole collection of jewellery to wear it is worth considering having at least one special piece of quality jewellery and finding other accessories to match elsewhere. This way you will have one gorgeous keepsake piece which will be very sentimental.
- Pearls are perfect for weddings as they are timelessly elegant and very flattering. You can also add glamour and sparkle by combining pearls with diamantes and crystals.
- Be individual. Create a unique or fashion-forward look by layering different necklaces, cluster brooches on the hip or shoulder, or customise your dress with a sash or corsage.
- Don’t forget your bridesmaids. Jewellery makes a great thank you gift, and if you choose carefully, they can have something to wear on the day that will also make a wonderful keepsake.
- Order your jewellery in plenty of time for your last dress fitting, so you can see the whole look come together with shoes, veil and of course the gown.
- Have fun! Choosing bridal jewellery is one of the best bits so enjoy, get your friends involved and don’t settle for anything less than perfect!
