Colourful Alternatives to White Wedding Dresses

A wedding dress that is white with purity or ivory to keep it light but softer, this isn't the only way...

Everyone has their own style and look, both for themselves and their wedding, and there are perfect antidotes to the traditional white and ivory. White is a very hard colour to pull off as, much like black, it is a lack of colour and can be hard on the skin. Depending on your skin tone, a warm hue is often more flattering.

Ivory is softer and definitely easier to pull off, but if you really want to shake it up and go for a colour that works for you then gold is great, especially with some sheen as it will really brighten up your eyes.

Don't be afraid that you will look like one of the bridesmaids, as you can use accessories to bring elements of bridey back, for example a headpiece with a mini veil, bling to sing out down the aisle. Also the style of dress will most certainly ensure there is no mistaking which one is the lady of the moment and which is simply her sidekick.

Champagne is much warmer and more flattering, great with vintage styles, and soft antique mint greens and powder blues are fab for bringing out your eye colour.

I have dressed girls in red, silver, deep pink and even black before! It's your day, there are no set rules apart from the unwritten law that it is your day to look the best you possibly can, and often that doesn't mean sticking with tradition.
