Dream Wedding Destinations - Gibraltar

Marriage at the famous Rock of Gibraltar

Gibraltar is located at the mouth of the Mediterranean, at the bottom of the Iberian Peninsula, and is only 12 miles from the north coast of Africa.

With the Mediterranean climate, English the spoken language and flights from the UK only taking a few hours, Gibraltar is becoming an increasingly popular destination for couples wanting to marry in the sun, allowing you to be married within 24 hours without the residency requirements of other countries.

Apart from the more traditional Registry Office wedding there are a variety of romantic alternative venues, including a tranquil Italian garden with fountains and a magical backdrop of a waterfall and tropical flowers.

Here is an example of one of the beautiful wedding venues available to you:

The terrace wedding in Gibraltar!

A marriage right on the Mediterranean.

Get married at the Ocean View terrace; this set up is ideal for a small party of 40 guests. Surrounded by the Mediterranean sea and on the other side the famous Rock of Gibraltar, it is an ideal set up to remember. After the ceremony enjoy a canapé and champagne reception on the terrace followed by a reception with a view!

Did you know that...

...in 1969 John Lennon and Yoko Ono got married at Gibraltar?

...Sean Connery got married twice in Gibraltar (1962 and 1975)?

...it is said that Hercules (a hero of Greek legend) decided to pull Africa and Spain apart, using Gibraltar and the Moroccan mountain of Jebel Musa as his handgrips, and that they are known as The Pillars of Hercules?

...there is no other place in Europe where you will find free-roaming apes (Barbary Macaques)?

...Gibraltar was once used as a location in the James Bond movie "The Living Daylights" (starring Timothy Dalton)?
