10 Tips for Staying Cool at a Summer Wedding

What a fantastic summer we are having, but not so fantastic for staying cool, calm and collected in that beautiful wedding dress. If you don't want your dress to be wearing your make-up at your summer wedding then read my top tips on staying cool.

1. Make sure that the area you will be getting ready in is at least in the shade or if you are lucky has air conditioning.

2. If you do have air conditioning, place a bucket of ice in front of it and it will be even cooler.

3. If you are doing your own make-up, pop your make-up in the fridge so that all your cosmetics are beautifully cool on your skin.

4. If you are getting married in the hotter months or even abroad, make sure you think about primer, this will ensure that your make-up stays put all day.

5. Consider tinted moisturiser as opposed to foundation as this is lighter and won't weigh the skin down, but only go with tinted moisturiser if your skin is free from blemishes.

6. Don't pop on that dress until the last minute.

7. Keep your hair up whilst you are having your make-up done.

8. Ask your hair stylist if she can use products which work with humidity.

9. Use a leather chamois and rip it into long pieces, dip it into a bucket of ice and tie around your wrists where your pulse points are and if possible have one around your neck. You can even drop a few splashes of lavender oil on the leather which will keep you cool headed and calm.

10. Once you are ready and off to the church, think of having a parasol to keep you shaded. It’s a long day and you want to be looking glam, feeling cool and not burning or melting!

Now enjoy that sun safely and always wear sun cream!
