Waterside Weddings
If you like the idea of getting married at a waterside wedding venue you will not be short of choice...
While scouring the net recently, I came across an article about an American couple that got married underwater in a marine aquarium surrounded by sharks. The happy couple decided on this unusual venue because they love the sea and thought an underwater ceremony would be unique, which I’m sure it was! If you fancy the idea of a waterside wedding, but swimming with sharks isn’t your cup of tea, you’ll be pleased to know there are other options.
For beach lovers, Bedruthan Steps Hotel lies on a cliff top on the North Cornwall coast and has wonderful sea views. Although it’s not generally possible to get married outdoors in the UK, unless it’s beneath a licensed structure, you could head to the beach after your ceremony for some wildly romantic wedding photos.

Waterside weddings don’t just have to be confined to the seaside. Coltsford Mill in Surrey is a barn wedding venue in the valley of the River Eden. Set in its own grounds with lakes and ponds, the venue offers a civil ceremony in a historic Mill Room, or a contemporary Watermill Barn. You and your guests will be able to relax in peaceful surroundings with views of the lakes and ponds and the tranquil sound of flowing cascades nearby. For a romantic riverside wedding, Rivervale Barn on the banks of the River Blackwater in Hampshire is a stunning, contemporary barn venue with extensive landscaped gardens and a large pond surrounded by flowers.

These venues are just a few examples of the many wedding venues out there that offer a beautiful waterside setting, without the need to dive into your scuba gear!
