About Us
BMA House is a stunning Grade II listed building located in fashionable Bloomsbury, central London.
This beautiful red brick building was designed in 1911 by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The design is neo-classical Palladian and incorporates Portland Stone facades, grand Archways, stone Corinthian Columns and Westmorland slate roofs.
The building is centred on a courtyard with memorial fountain. Furthermore a private garden with pond, housing physic plants with medicinal properties can be found to the rear of the building; and provides a tranquil outdoor space for Events. The Garden is also famous for being the grounds to the house of Charles Dickens where he is said to have written some of his most famous novels.
BMA House underwent major refurbishment in 2008 to lovingly restore its rooms in keeping with their original design and Grade II listed heritage. Several rooms are licensed for Wedding Ceremonies and are also suitable to host an array of events including the Wedding Breakfast, Engagement and Anniversary Parties, Naming Ceremonies and Private Dinners.
Holding your ceremony in our beautiful Grade II listed House will guarantee a day to remember. BMA House is licensed for the solemnisation of marriage in The Great Hall, The Lutyens Suite and The Prince’s Room. These rooms are all available to host your Wedding Breakfast.
You are spoilt for choice of one of our beautiful outdoor spaces in which to toast your commitment to each other, by serving Drinks and Canapés in either The Courtyard or The Garden.
The Courtyard is the heart of BMA House. Home to the memorial fountain and set against the backdrop of this Grade II listed building, the Courtyard offers a unique setting in which to mingle with your guests and capture those all important photographs.
Alternatively the Garden provides a beautiful backdrop for Wedding Photographs and outdoor Receptions; and the adjoining Garden Room offers a vibrant indoor space in which to relax.
