Head to Bournemouth for Your Hen or Stag Weekend
Marco Walker explains why you should consider a hen or stag weekend in Bournemouth...
The summer is here, and when the sun comes out us Brits tend to flock to the beaches, whether they’re in the Costas or in Britain’s seaside resorts. For many reasons one of our most popular stag and hen locations is Bournemouth, including the amazing beaches, fantastic daytime activities and nightlife that will blow your socks off.

Popular daytime activities available in Bournemouth are Rage Buggies, Quad Biking, Paintball, Clay Pigeon Shooting and Race Karting. Top night time activities in Bournemouth include bar crawls, lap dancing clubs, comedy clubs, party meals and nightclubs.
Another new and exciting activity Bournemouth has to offer is surfing in Boscombe. Europe’s first artificial reef was completed in October 2009, and made by using large geotextile sandbags, creating excellent surf all year round.
The town itself has loads of great stag and hen friendly hotels, all within walking distance of the nightlife and beach. There are plenty of accommodation choices to suit everyone’s budget, from low cost to prestigious with leisure facilities.
Bournemouth centre offers the shopper a fabulous day out for retail therapy. Most of the town centre is pedestrianised with a good choice of shops, from the normal high street brands to boutiques. There are also plenty of café bars and coffee shops.
Bournemouth’s award winning 7 miles of beach is pure sand, fantastic for sunbathing and perfect for beach games like volleyball or football, and directly behind the beach is the Waterfront complex offering a good choice of restaurants and bars to feed your appetite and thirst.
Those looking for nightlife need to head to Old Christchurch Road where they’ll find stacks of bars and clubs to keep even the thirstiest hen or stag party happy. All have friendly bar staff who do not mind single sex parties and fancy dress.
So if you are looking for sun, sea and fun head down to Bournemouth, which apparently has a microclimate and on average sees the sun more times throughout the year than most places in Britain (average rainfall in Bournemouth is 592.6mm, well below the national average of 1,126mm).
