About Us

Upwaltham Barns is a collection of lovingly restored traditional flint long barns in the beautiful surroundings of the South Downs National Park.

One of the prettiest venues in the south of England, Upwaltham Barns is a set of traditional flint long barns surrounded by the beautiful South Downs.  The love and care poured into the restoration of the Barns is reflected in the warm and friendly atmosphere of this family-owned venue.

The East Barn is licensed for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies for up to 150 guests or is equally suitable for a drinks reception.  Its original stonework, wooden beams and neutral colour tones create a warm, tranquil atmosphere.

The South Barn is spacious and can seat 150 guests for dining and is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150.  The adjoining Bar area has leather sofas, rugs, and a woodburner for an authentic cosy, country feel.  The Courtyard at the heart of the venue is a wonderful place for drinks, a hog roast or barbecue, and the gardens nearby provide scenic photo opportunities.

The Jasmine Cottage is a delightful hideaway available, if required, for the wedding couple on the day and night of the wedding.  Decorated in the French “shabby chic” style, it has its own open plan lounge/kitchen on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom with en-suite upstairs, complete with a Juliet balcony.
