What Does Wedding Insurance Cover You For?

You’re planning the biggest day of your life - now it’s time to decide whether or not to take out wedding insurance.

It’s perhaps not the most glamorous element of planning your special day, but wedding insurance is becoming increasingly popular. Want to know what it entails? Look no further...

  • Many companies offer wedding insurance, with policies ranging from £25 upwards depending on the level of cover.
  • Generally wedding insurance will cover against unforeseen cancellation of your wedding and supplier failure. Basically, if your venue floods and you need to rearrange the entire day, your insurance will come to the rescue.
  • Be sure to get a policy that suits your day. If you’re having a marquee, you need marquee cover. If you’re tying the knot overseas, you might want to make sure all your documents are insured.
  • Before insuring, check what you’re already covered for. Many suppliers will have their own insurance, and your home insurance will cover certain elements. If you pay by credit card, you will also have an element of security there.
  • There’s no point splashing out on a policy that’s more than you need - choose a company who offer just what you’re looking for.
  • Remember - there’s no insurance if you have a change of heart. If you decide to cancel at the last minute, you’ll have some bills to pay!
