Choosing Your Wedding Shoes

Your wedding shoes are an important part of your wedding outfit. Even if you choose a long style dress they will still be on show when you walk and when you are climbing out of the wedding car. Wedding photographers normally suggest that they take a photograph of your shoes too, especially if they are really pretty ones!

Most bridal shoes tend to be made out of satin, but there are lots of new designers out there that also work with leather and suede. If you do select a satin pair, it is always a good idea to have a swatch of your dress fabric handy so that you can check that they are a good colour match. It may also be worth checking if you can dye them afterwards. Leather and suede are becoming more popular because you can wear them again.

Some designers are also offering styles in differing heel heights which is useful if you have a set hem line to work to or a short fiancé. Most dress shops ask for your heel height at your dress fitting so it is a good idea to think about getting your shoes quite early on.
